Safe place to ask questions. Safe place to think outside the box

I have been in the religion business for a long time. I have talked “religion” with members of all the world’s great religions. The vast majority of those I have talked to have the same frame of reference, Christians included. For almost all of us the frame of reference is “good behavior.” My mission is to help struggling Christians discover the wonder and joy of living their faith as a relationship with their God, first and foremost. The fact that many of you who just read this are asking yourself the question, “what is he driving at?” suggests you probably need to hear more.
It is possible to be on a first name basis with the Creator of the Universe. Many of the Christians I know have more than enough knowledge about God to reach the conclusion that they “know” Him. The problem is that knowledge about God does not equal knowledge of God. For many of us our experience of God lags far behind our knowledge about God. This results in a merely theoretical understanding of our faith. My desire is to see people move from a largely intellectual understanding of God to a life filled with the experience of a genuine relationship with God. Anything less just doesn’t measure up to the God placed longings of our hearts. Anything less just doesn’t satisfy.

“God I know you can- I don’t know if you will.”

This question came to me from an honest, earnest seeker.

I know God can heal me, but I don’t know if He will. He hasn’t healed my back. I’ve wondered if he’s doing this because […]

If sickness is something God doesn’t will- then why do we die?

The argument goes something like this – isn’t death often a natural result of sickness. We get old and sick and then we die. If God has “ordained” death then why oppose sickness?

Death was […]

Does healing prayer depend on the faith of the person being prayed for?

Faith is a big part of healing but it isn’t the only factor. When it is the “cause” of the healing it is most often found in the faith of family and friends. This […]
