		<description>Definitely.  I think what you say is very perceptive.  It reminds me of a passage in Proverbs 24 which says:

"Rescue those being led away to death;
       hold back those staggering toward slaughter.

       If you say, "But we knew nothing about this,"
       does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
       Does not he who guards your life know it?
       Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"

It's our duty and privilege to help those in need.  The fact that there's so much suffering in the world is just a testament that the Church isn't doing a very good job.  But instead of being overwhelmed by the situation, it's better to just do what you can, and trust that it'll be enough.
