In north county San Diego, there’s a little park on a hill that overlooks a portion of the city and the ocean beyond. I often like to go there, and one night, while walking along the park’s perimeter, I noticed a little cement bench facing outward toward the distant ocean. Suddenly, I was filled with thoughts of a perfect moment, and though the event recorded below hasn’t yet happened, I wanted to write it down to remember, in hopes that one day it will. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy… The Park Bench
On a park bench we sat, on a high windswept hill,
And we watched the dear city, lying distant and still.
She laid on my shoulder her sweet, sleepy head,
And we watched as the world slumbered softly in bed.
I knew in that moment that perfection had come,
And we watched all else fade to a quiet, still hum.

Ben, sorry I have another comment. I just went to Ben’s Books and they look wonderful. What’s most coincidental is that they are due to come out on my birthday!. I want to find out where I can purchase them, I’m very excited to read them. I need to be able to go to a store or a place that accepts Paypal, as I do not own a credit card, would you please let me know.
Cher. Thank you so much, you are very kind and generous. Happy birthday by the way! And seeing as how it’s your birthday, I’m picking up the books tomorrow, if you send me your address, I’ll send you the historical fiction. If you like poetry and romance, I think you’ll like that one. Thanks again for reading, and thank you very much for your encouragement!!
Hi Ben. Wonderful to stumble on your inspiring blog and writings. I actually went online to delete the poem post when I found your comment. Nice one.
